Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee capital projects and asset management to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards and regulatory compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, and company-specific Safety Health and Environmental policies.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for equipment optimization and risk mitigation, focusing on enhancing operational safety and efficiency.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and solve complex engineering challenges effectively.
- Manage and control the section's budget by forecasting operational costs, monitoring expenditure, and improving financial efficiencies.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of technical experts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and individual development plans.
- Establish effective operational methodologies for continuous improvement in business processes and technical functions.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental consciousness within the team and across all operations.
- Apply best practices in functional excellence by standardizing processes and promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Evaluate and execute projects with minimal risk, within set timeframes and budgetary constraints, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- B Tech or BEng in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
- Government Certificate of Competence: Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
- Management Development Programme certification (Essential/Minimum)
- 6-8 years of relevant maintenance and project management experience (Essential/Minimum)
- Psychometric Assessment(Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
- MHS Act Regulation 2.13.3.1 (AME) compliance (Essential/Minimum)
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (PrEng) (Recommended/Desirable)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Proven financial management abilities to prepare and control budgets
