Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Group Lead: Cyber Operations, to join the IT team at CCBA. The role will report to the Group Head: Cyber Security.
CCBA is the 8th largest Coca-Cola authorised bottler in the world by revenue, and the largest on the continent. It accounts for over 40% of all Coca-Cola ready-to-drink beverages sold in Africa by volume. With over 14 000 employees in Africa, CCBA group services more than 800 000 customers with a host of international and local brands. CCBA group operates in 14 countries: South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Botswana, Zambia, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi and the islands of Comoros and Mayotte.
To lead and strengthen Group Cyber Security Operations by proactively monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats, ensuring the protection of CCBA’s digital assets, systems, and data. The role drives operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across security operations, enabling a resilient and secure technology environment that supports business continuity and growth.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Security Event Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor, detect, and respond to security events, ensuring timely assessment, mitigation, and reporting of incidents to protect the organisation while maintaining incident response readiness and continuous improvement of detection capabilities
- Compliance & Process Management: Ensure SLA adherence, policy compliance, and process optimisation across all service partners, strengthening the Security Operations Framework and identifying gaps for proactive risk mitigation
- Threat Management & Analysis: Identify, model, and analyse threats, developing actionable use cases, performing advanced threat intelligence analysis, and enhancing security posture against evolving risks
- Security Systems & Log Management: Administer and maintain security devices, integrate standard and non-standard logs into SIEM, and produce dashboards, metrics, and reports to drive informed decision-making
- Team & Vendor Management: Lead and mentor teams and vendors, optimise resource utilisation, manage performance, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational excellence and accountability
- Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Programmes: Build strong stakeholder relationships, act as a trusted security advisor, and lead strategic cyber security initiatives, including identity/access management, compliance programmes, and security awareness initiatives
- Cloud & Environment Protection: Safeguard cloud and on-premise environments by enforcing secure configurations, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and ensuring alignment with organisational policies and industry best practices
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Proactively assess emerging technologies, industry trends, and threat intelligence to recommend and implement improvements to security processes, tools, and practices
- Audit & Risk Oversight: Coordinate IT audits and assessments, ensure findings are addressed, and maintain risk registers to reduce exposure and strengthen organisational security posture
Skills, Experience & Education
Skills:
- Proficient in cyber security controls, assessments and third-party management
- Ability to effectively manage performance and guide the team
- Display high levels of integrity and trust as well as exercise professional judgment objectively and independently
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills - both oral and written
- Ability to actively pursue innovative solutions to the cyber security team and business
- Provide input into the future strategic direction of cyber security
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive alignment across diverse teams
Experience:
- 10 – 15 years’ experience in leading cyber security operations
- Relevant finance/internal audit qualifications
- Proficient in Incident Management and Response
- Experience in security device management and SIEM
- Experience in threat management
- Demonstrating experience in driving & uplifting cyber operations capabilities
- Knowledge of various operating systems, including but not limited to Windows, Linux, Mac OS

Qualifications:
- Bachelors' degree
- An MBA or advanced degree will be advantageous
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or CompTIA Security will be beneficial
